Blaqrhythm Recordings is a record label out of Waldorf, MD that is dedicated to bringing the best in Black Music, starting with Hip Hop.

Blaqrhythm Recordings started in Albany, NY under the name of Flavaboogie Productions. Flavaboogie Productions began as a DJing company, Simeon Russell A.K.A DJ Spesh, the owner of the company many local MC's needed a place to showcase their talent so he started holding open mic sessions at various nightclubs where he would DJ. Simeon began to work with and produce tracks with a few of the artists that performed at these open mic sessions. He began to release mixtapes featuring local and famous artists the label/production company started to garner some attention in Upstate NY when trouble hit. Many of the artists he worked with resorted to illegal measures to support themselves till they broke into the industry and unfortunately found themselves in legal trouble.

Simeon decided to move the label to Maryland, where he also planned on finishing his education. With a fresh move he decided that a fresh name was in store, he registered Blaqrhythm Recordings as an official business in 2001. Simeon decided to take his time and structure his business properly. In 2004 he released a mixtape The Blaqrhythm Mixtape V1, with artists he'd been working with, to garner a little attention and attract artists. He attracted a slew of artists and began signing the best of the best. He immediately went to work on his first official release, which will includes artists from Blaqrhythm Recordings (RICO, DIMES, J-Law, 2Beez, Young Prodigy and Lesson)

The first official release from the label is being released May 23rd, 2006 by the name of Blaq Music: The Compilation Album.
