Album Notes

Peter Blast has been called a rock & roll survivor, who deserves a Purple Heart. Whether you know him as "Peter Blast" or "Peter Blastiosso" it doesn't much matter. Fans have come to recognize his style, voice, raunchy, jagged guitar and haunting lyrics.

At the age of 14, Peter was playing mid-block South Side taverns of Chicago. By 1977 Blast was fronting the group Degeneration. Famous for being the first punk rock group to perform on the Las Vegas Strip, Degeneration got labeled the American Sex Pistols.

By the 80’s Peter Blast formed Blast Factory and relentlessly toured. The 90’s found Blast in Junebug along with former members of the D’Molls, Bad Finger, and Alice Cooper. The band was quickly signed and to Circumstantial/Stoney Records and produced by Chip Z’nuff.

In 1998 Peter began recording his first solo CD with the help of multi-million selling producer Johnny K. at Groove Master Studio. The result was This Side of Shang-hi, an array of new material that blended Country, Blues and Pop Rock.

A new century brought a new solo record, Explode! It’s in-your-face vocals, hooks and heavy rhythms pushed Peter back into the spotlight. Pure Organic Junk is an anthology which pulls together material from all of Peter’s previous projects as well as some new treats and a few previously unreleased tracks. Drink up and enjoy!

EVERY TITLE IS A HIT!
author: Deep In The Heart Of Dixie
There are so many great songs on this release, I don't know where to start! I think "And Just For You Too" is my favorite track of the slower, more ballad like songs, although "Blame it On Me" is very beautiful as well! Peter takes one of the old New York Dolls standards, "Pills", and just rocks it to death! If you really want to get your rocks off...go for "Orange Sunshine" or "Derailed Train"! Both of those will take you where you wanna go! All in all, a tremendous display of talent by the amazing...PETER BLAST

What a great CD! I just totally love it! It's just such a great collection of songs. I found myself listening to it no matter what mood I was in, the Good Ol Rock Album's do that like the Faces, the Beatles and The Stones to name a couple of them. I highly recommend it!

Pure Organic Junk on New Years Eve was so intoxicating. I don't know how Peter Blast's material on this CD crossed Rock, Punk, Pop, Blues, and Country all together and made it sound all so right. A Great flow, just Great, a Great CD for 07!
