hi, my name is john, better known as Bill's brother, and i started bleat in order to make any kind of music without restraint under one umbrella.

after one lp of warped technopunk ("igloo") and a children's rock lp ("spirograffe"), bleat expanded to a trio with daren follower on bass and darryl leonard on drums. together we made the tumbleweeds-and-pixies "spoke", and the more straightforward "ugly kisser".

a bleat 45 was released in 1996, and a cd in 2001.

this is john is a 9-song ep of demos, outtakes, and weirdness.

most of it was made up on the spot & recorded on a broken boombox, transferred to a computer & prettied up. that's david m. curry helping out on 'scenester' and 'she hangs out'. please see our myspace page to see the 'she hangs out' video.
