Fab stuff and a unique voice
author: Steve Howard
Thanks to the BBC for playing Dead Egyptian Blues when I was driving home from work - had to buy the CD, and the highlight is My Life - have been waking up to this track and then staying in bed to listen to the whole album...puts me in a good mood for the whole day. Bernice has an amazing voice with a vibrato that is truly amazing; her musical arrangements are subtle and beautiful. She deserves to be much better known over in the UK - please come to England and put on a concert for us!

Best version of Dead Egyptian Blues
author: Sue James
I admit it. I bought this album for Dead Egyptian Blues. It's just a brilliant version and we sing along and laugh every time we play it. Love Bernice's voice throughout the album - really clear and strong.

dead egyptian blues...she owns it
author: anthony markman...riverdale, ny
june '05...you have to give this album 5 stars, but for no reason that is obvious, maybe...except this singer's version of DEAD EGYPTIAN BLUES...she owns it and you will know it, and everyone gathered round the cd transport will nod (and resonate) and agree...but there is more...not her voice, it's kind of nasal, and folksy as the woods, and twangy too...but there is goodness and purity, just as surely as there is cliche in this review...listen to SAD MOVIES second...it works, she works...
