If you haven't heard of Bernice Lewis before now there's been a huge gaping hole in your life... but you're in for such a treat! This is a particularly strong collection of songs by Bernice, assisted by a fine supporting cast of fellow musicians. Great songs performed beautifully by a wonderful and modest lady-thats a pretty rare and special combination.

simply the best

This is the my 3rd CD by Bernice Lewis. Each is a jewel; Religion and Release is breathtakingly beautiful music, from the songwriting, guitar's and vocals which include Dar Williams, Ellis Paul and Alisa Fineman along with Bernice's captivating and georgeous voice. I saw Bernice live in Texas a few years back, just her and her guitar....her performance brought tears to my eyes, an evening of music I will never forget.
