Album Notes

In the summer of 2010, the band formerly known as Blinded Colony reformed as The Blinded with two new singers.

Joel, a long time friend to members of the band, took on the clean vocals
and brought growler Johnny with him.

The band recorded an EP with six brand new songs over the summer to show
off the new line-up.

The sound is familiar to the bands earlier work, but heavier, more
powerful and with a stronger sense of melody.

More determined than ever,The Blinded is currently writing new tracks and looking
for a suitable home for their upcoming third album.

Ok so I want to start by saying this album is way different from there last album. And in this review I compare them to other bands I really don’t like doing this but it’s the easiest way to help you understand what I mean. Now I want to address that they have 2 new singers witch by the way, are way good. A lot of people like the old singer but these guys really did a awesome job on this ep. I had no complaints with their vocals. I had 10 of my friends list to the ep and all of them loved it ,and this is guys that only list to like straight death metal or black metal so that’s saying something. Now to the review So the first song “along the way” From the start Johnny (the growling vocals) comes in hella quick after the first couple sec. just growling it out making it feel hella dark. Giving it a feel of dark tranquility mix with early soilwork just not as fast. then comes in Joel for the hook and hella changes the feel to more of the melodic feel and no lie his fucking line with "got lost along the way' and "may all colors turn to grey" fucking will stay in your head. hella of a good song!, I wish I could say more about this song but nothing really stands out about the guitars or drums pretty much stay to the same stuff as there last album...I wish they would have added like a cool solo or something but don’t get me wrong the song is still dope, check the song out at their website and you'll understand how epic it is.... “Escape”…Let me say this ….holy fucking shit!!! For fans of sonic syndicate and soilwork. will have no trouble getting into this song…(even though they make sonic syndicate look like lil bitch’s!!) it comes in with a nice like keyboard part and gets into the growls again but hella quickly picks up with joel with his lines before the hook… and draws you with hook lines ( I have no fucking Idea how they do it but there hooks hella stay in your head) now for the guitars on this song it really changes. its not their normal guitar riffs.. They change it up and actually throw in speed stuff and solo. The drums on this song are way better than any other song I have heard from them… “Pretend” If you’re already big fans of them you might already know that there was pre-recorded demo of this song with their old singer. It was ok? Nothing big. But there re-recorded version of the song with new lyrics. So fucking metal hella fast song Johnny kills it with vocals from start to end. In most of the BC song’s Johnny gets about I would say 35% in the song but this song you’ll feel as if it’s was all about Johnny vocals and Joel just ends it with his clean stuff. “Drag you down” This song is one of their other songs that just fucking stands out….its bit slower but keeps it dark with growls and even clean parts has a different feel. The only thing that I could compare it to would be old killswitch with dark tranquility and that’s as close as I can get. “Waking up dead” & out of line Ok out of the whole ep these two songs hella stand out and not in the good way Sorry BC but idk like it feels like they went hella NU-METAL? Im not saying its like shit but hella dosent fit with the rest of them, out of line reminded me of atreyu or something( I don’t really listen to anything soft stuff but that as close as I can get). out of line is a good song don’t get me wrong its just that there was to much of the melodic stuff and it over did it like. There was a sic ass break down that reminded me of in flames but then they didn’t do much with it… just went back to Joel sing the hook for the 100th time and waking up dead it just didn’t do it for me it just didn’t blend in right.Like the fucking hook is sic as fuck and the guitars and drums are dope. it’s just the verse where it kinda gets dull and dose’nt blend But really over all as a package it’s a good e.p. and I wish I had the money to bring these guys from over sea to play here in the u.s. and market there stuff because there stuff is 100% better then most of the shit out there. I honest to god have no fucking idea why there not signed to a label….fucking nuclear blast has nothing but old shitty ass bands….and road runner has nothing but fucking nu-metal butt-rock..idk fucking label are fucking retarded….anyway enough of ranting buy this shit already!!!!
