notes
My Someday is the debut LP from Blondfire, the brother/sister duo of Bruce and Erica Driscoll. Almost entirely self-produced and mixed, it's a song after song showcase of hooky, elegant, left-of-center, pop songs.
Erica's voice is airy, haunting, heartbreaking, and creates a wonderful sense of continuity over the span of the album. Over the course of the 12 songs Blondfire succeed at taking the listener on a journey through several different genres, with each track sounding remarkably original and unmistakably their own.
Beneath their catchy melodies and quirky production there is an undeniable charming element to their sound. Some songs seem like period pieces or forgotten hits from a different era, while still seeming modern, fresh, and current.
It's evident from listening to My Someday that the Driscolls love music and have fun doing what they do. Each song was recorded in a different location, some as bizarre as a London hotel room. The album shows what bands can be capable of once they throw out the rule book and just make the music in their hearts. This is a must listen release.

author: ColGood stuff. Aluminum Stars is definitely a fave for me.... Its nice to have a hardcopy instead of having to listen to a myspace page! yay
Excellent CD!!
author: Jeff FIf you liked their EP when they were called Astaire, you will love this CD. The music is incredibly catchy. I continuously repeat the songs several times when they pop up on my ipod. Erica's voice is heavenly.
My Someday
author: SamanthaI originally got this CD because of their song called "L-L-L Love" I heard it hear in Colorado on Colorado State University's radio station KCSU. Now my favorite song is "All In My Mind" and "Eyes Of A Stranger". It would be awesome if they came to colorado and did a show on this side of the country.I loved the CD and am glad they finally made a full length recording.
Excellent music!!!
author: Shawn WilsonI had first heard of Astaire from their connection with Ivy, one of my favorite bands. I just loved "Don't Whisper Lies" and have loved everything this duo has created since. Now there is an entire album of new songs to enjoy, and I just love what I hear! Similar to Ivy's retro vibe, Blondfire also has a retro sound, and manage to make 80s synth sounds sound new. The music is not overproduced the way so much of today's music is. It feels a little more sparse production-wise than most top 40 pop, yet there is so much substance to the music. Bands like Blondfire give me reason to enjoy new music again!! My favorites - Always the Last to Know, Eyes of a Stranger, and All In My Mind

I've been waiting for a full length release from Blondfire for a while and am so happy that it is finally here. The CD is full of catchy pop tunes that only grow more appealing with time. I am a little disappointed that they didn't include material previously released on an acoustic EP, but it's great to hear new songs (L-L-Love aside). Hope to see them on tour again soon because their music makes me smile...

I was very excited when I found out this album was being released. I bought it as soon as I read the news. I first heard Blondfire on myspace a year ago, and I have loved their music ever since. I was very pleased with the album. My favorites and "Out Of The Blue," "Lovesick," "Aluminum Stars," heck the whole CD is great!!!

My Someday is one of the best albums i own!! Erica's vocals are heavenly and the music is so refreshing from all that other stuff being played on the radio nowadays. Every song is amazingly done. My favorites are Pretty Young Thing, Always the Last to Know and Alumninum Stars.

I didn't think I could like anything more than Don't Whisper Lies. I can't stop playing this one and I hope that I don't wear it out. I'm really digging Out Of The Blue and Pretty Young Thing. Definitely worth the wait!
