ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bloodseal (once known as The Seventh Seal) is a powerful, progressive rock trio, which combines elements of heavy metal, tech rock, alternative, fusion and classical music to create an excitingly new feel. Since originality is a key feature of Bloodseal, it is difficult to accurately describe their sound. Gathering influences from Rush, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Yes, Bach, and Mozart, it is no wonder their style is different from most conventional rock/metal bands. While Bloodseal's music holds a strong appeal for musicians, their energetic stage show impresses non-musicians, as well.

Bloodseal consists of bassist and vocalist Augustus Bludstone, guitarist Chris Dunnett, and percussionist The Troll. All three musicians exhibit outstanding expertise on their instruments.

Augustus Bludstone..Vocals & Bass...Augustus manages to tastefully combine solo and bottom-end bass, while not losing site of the song's direction. Augustus' vocals are very unique--bordering on the power of a heavy metal vocalist, with an alternative, yet almost "haunting" tone, which further adds to the originality of Bloodseal. His influences range from Geddy Lee of RUSH to Lemmy of Motorhead. He is also a big fan of more "experimental acts such as King Crimson and Pink Floyd but the influences of such authors as H.P. Lovecraft & J.R. Tolkien weigh in just as heavily. Past band projects have included opening up for Big Brother & The Holding Co. and other national acts with The Seventh Seal.

Chris Dunnett...Guitar...Guitarist Chris Dunnett draws upon his knowledge of classical music, theory and technique, combined with his love of "catchy melodies" to create a fiery and aggressive, yet melodic sound. His rapid movement through complex and obscure licks, along with highly energetic stage movements, tends to create a great deal of excitement in an audience.

Troll...Drums...A drummer since the age of 5, The Troll's influences would include John Bonham, Neil Peart, and Ian Pace. An extremely versatile drummer, Troll has played everything from Surf music to Top-40 (but don't hold the latter against him...he was young, he needed the money). The Troll also plays with Augustus in their side-project, Bludstone.

Bloodseal performs predominantly their own material, with a few rearranged cover songs from the likes of Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult. This may give "some" indication as to the sound of Bloodseal.

Outstanding
Outstanding guitar work and excellent arrangments. I'ts about time some one brought something new to mettal. This CD signifies the begining of a new birth of mettal.
