Based out of Oakland, California, Bloodwire began in 2001 when Shawn Brice, formally of the acclaimed goth/industrial outfit, BATTERY, wrote an instrumental piece for I-Li Chang as a gift. I-Li was so moved by his music that she immediately wrote lyrics and melody for the song. She sang this newly formed song to Shawn as a gift back to him. Soon, this shy girl developed a taste for creating music inspired by this talented musician. The transformation began and Bloodwire emerged.
Their songs are deeply personal and yet accessible, ranging from dreamy to raucous - sometimes in the same song! They are equally comfortable creating epic grooves or succinct
pop songs, always with an emotional core. The amalgamation of I-Li's rich and sultry voice with Shawn's technical acumen creates a musical experience that is heart-pounding and electric, indeed where heart and circuit are intertwined.

I heard this for the first time 2 years ago, that 2 years later I finally got round to getting my own copy is a testament to how good it is. Plus my musical background is Metal not Electronica !
This is a great album to wind down to. Beautiful Vocals from I-Li, and a wide range of musical styles. A beautiful piece of work which they now have to follow up on :)

Awesome music, passionate vocals

These guys are truly amazing! I would highly recommend them to fans of Garbage, Jem or even Madonna. The album takes you from mellow, chill type songs to full-on rockin' tunes. I-li Chang's voice truly shimmers against the back drop of Shawn Brice's (formerly of electro-industrial trio Battery) clever electronic arrangements. I would also recommend catching these guys live if you have the opportunity. The emotion REALLY comes through in a live setting.

I came about finding Bloodwire by accident, and I am truly pleased that I did. After a few previews of the songs, I really found that I really enjoyed the emotion conveyed , and relate to the lyrical meanings. Absolutely brilliant, I'm so glad I found them.
