  • a great review of BL
    author: Discoveringartists.com

DiscoveringArtists.com The Bloody Lovelies: Some Truth and A Little Money Reminiscent in sound to The Strokes, Rufus Wainwright and Ben Folds Five, this band knows how to pen thought-provoking songs while rocking out semi-Brit style. Lead singer Randy Wooten's vocals have stunning depth and range, and the ability to convey emotion as he does in "You Don't Love Me." In "Lonely", Wooten beautifully wails, "I've been erased/I've been undone/Cuz no one is near me/Nobody's near me." Their sound is professional and authentic, and the ability for stardom is definitely evident throughout this fun, quirky collection of tunes. If you like the sound of piano-based rock, you'll enjoy this CD...there's the right blend of slow ballads to keep things grounded. These guys are quality!

    author: Stacey, Ontario Canada

Just got my cd! I Don't know why it took me so long to order it! I LOVE IT! Great cd to wake up to and get a jump start on the day, awesome cd to CRANK in the car and oddly enough, a soothing sound to send you off to sleep. The songs are all uniquely different but still have the same great beat to get you moving. I could say so many more great things about this cd but they say to keep it short. I will say this though, If you are sitting there thinking about whether you're going to buy this cd or not BUY IT! You won't regret it! And if you do regret it for some reason, come find me and i'll find some way to make you love this cd as much as I do! :)

  • A New Favorite
    author: Deborah Barber

"Some Truth And A Little MOney" is a new favorite that I must play daily! It's fun and quirky - makes you want to get up and dance. While listening for the first time, and hearing the full track of "A Million Years From Now" I thought this is a song for a sing-a-long. Just at that moment, it sounds like a room-full of people joined in on the chorus! I'd love to see the Bloody Lovlies perform these songs live! Please, come to Ohio!

  • Terrific, Retro-Rock&Roll
    author: Trasi, London Canada

The Bloody Lovelies earthy, honest sound is a refreshing alternative to the over-produced standard of the adult-music genere. Although heavily Beatles inspired, TBL make the sound their own. From the retro-rock & roll sound of the opening track, Halogram, to the brooding Lonely Town, (the lyric from which the CD title is taken) to the 'swing' of Happy with it's heavy bass accompanyment, these musicians demonstrate their versatility. The exotic mandolin on You Don't Love Me, the Clash-inspired guitar on You Could Die and poetic lyric of Baby Tells Me is a sweet treat for the ears. As the proverbial icing on the cake, the CD's closing track, A Million Years From Now is a catchy, lyrical ANTHEM, full of emotion; will resonate in your ears for hours after listening.

  • Fab-u-lous!
    author: Kim from Milw

Some Truth is great! I love the prominant bass line and the original and honest lyrics! The music is toe tapping, mind invigorating, body moving fun! I'd love to see the songs on this album performed live, so I can experience the music and talent in full effect! Fan-tastic!!!

  • Wicked Sexy
    author: Sonia Taylor

The Bloody Lovelies have a sound that is a cross between David Bowie, the Beatles and an edgy Broadway play. Randy's voice is simply amazing with a rough sexy sound that will make you quiver. This CD will rock you to your core with Hologram and You Don't Love me, while A Million Years from Now has an air of nostalgia that just makes you smile and the Money Song will have you reevaluating your own relationship. Eric, Craig and Lance are musicians any singer would be honored to perform with, this band has got a sound that demands to be heard!

  • Randy Wooten could be the next great song writer/singer this decade
    author: Starr Tucker

THE BLOODY LOVELIES bring us 'Some Truth & A Little Money' - with a voice like Paul McCartney, no really, listen to it, it's a deadringer! The music's right on the money too! Randy Wooten could be the next great song writer/singer this decade. It's a fabulous 14 trax. Sprinkles of piano to drive this sensitive sound along to the next inspirational lyric. Excellent. Give the kids a break! Antithesis to the heavy metal scene, in fact it might even be the cure! www.cheaplullaby.com www.TheBloodyLovelies.com

  • Now I can add The Bloody Lovelies to a very particular list of favorite bands
    author: Dan A.

We're a generation or two apart ... as in "I could be your Dad"! But, music has always been the wheels driving my life. I grew up with The Beatles and The Kinks and The Who and drove into T.Rex and Bowie and then crashed into Patti Smith and Tom Verlaine and ... you get the picture. The past couple of years I was falling asleep at the wheel and just about to slide off the road from boredom when I heard you guys. Thanks for waking it up in me again. You guys are incredible. Now I can add The Bloody Lovelies to a very particular list of favorite bands. Good for you. It's good for me. Best, Den A.

  • Amazing Cd, It's everything the pop world is missing in good music
    author: Bob Steek

I hear influences of the Beatles, Bowie and Nirvana but it still has an identity of it's own. I love this CD. Thank you guys!
