Album Notes

Bloomsday is a quartet of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists that have been playing their unique blend of Irish music across the Midwest since 2002. While they have been compared to The Chieftans, Dervish, Danu, Tommy Makem and The Pogues, Bloomsday approaches their music from a unique perspecive and has a sound all their own.

Using broad pallate of traditional Irish instruments, Bloomsday brings you Irish music from all styles of the genre. Featuring flute, guitar, bodhran, fiddle, mandolin, whistle, harp, accordion, bouzouki, octave mandolin and strong harmony vocals, Bloomsday puts out a sound greater than its parts.

Their second album "Four Who Share the Room" takes you on a journy from a joyous pub session onto the deck of an immigrant ship and then plants you firmly on American soil, looking back across the sea.

They capture the sincerity and humor of Irish music with solid musicianship, skillful arranging and a firm respect for the traditions they draw from. If you are new to Irish music, or a longtime listener, Bloomsday has something to offer that will keep your ear interested and your toe tapping.
