Album Notes

An Olde Time Christmas is a collection of beautiful well-known English, French, and German traditional carols from as early as the fifteenth century. Sounds of piano, strings, guitar, and harp take one back to an earlier Christmas time. It’s soothing, slow moving melodies bring a peaceful calm and healing to the listener during a busy, often frantic time of year. Actually, the tunes in this collection may be played and enjoyed at any time of the year.

More and more people are listening to classic hymns. Their popularity has been increasing since even contemporary artists are using them more and more in their repertoire. Older hymns are beautifully written and have a unique charm. They are attractive to young people as well as older worshipers. Even contemporary church services are adding more and more classic familiar hymns to more contemporary sounds in their services. Listening to beloved older hymns takes us back to a sweeter, more innocent time.

She recently played at Miami University's 200th celebration alumni fundraiser banquet at the Oscar Event Center (Cincinnati). Barbara Telecsan performed at the Oxford Lane Public Library on July 10, 2007 and provided an enjoyable hour of entertainment.
