Album Notes

Blueganu’s music is a blend of Americana, Blues, Country and Rock. The band consists of four seasoned players who have cut their teeth and honed their skills in roadhouses and clubs throughout the New England area for the past 30 years.

If you’re a fan of roots based music you’ll enjoy the well-crafted music of this talented band. The songs and performances are earthy and real; born of many years playing in the smoke filled, neon flickering venues that are rapidly vanishing from the American musical landscape.

BC Magazine CD Review 6/7/2007:

Tongue-firmly in cheek for most of this stuff but it just washes over you like a pleasant shower. It's blues-folky rock that just puts a smile on your face no matter how grumpy you might be. This lot even get a way with a twee entitled/lyrical "Sugar" with its infectious tune and cheery lyrics. There are odes to Memphis on here, "Take Me Back To Memphis," and the mountains, "Man of the Mountains," naturally.

This is not the music for racing down the motorway but a disc for when the weather outside is rubbish, you got a glass of jack in your hand, and you just want to listen to some aural fun. Imagine a less stoned Grateful Dead and a less pretentious Fish with a dash of ole’ school blues. And I would be shirking my duties if I did not say the playing on here is first rate.

Reminds me of those "smokey" roadhouse good times of yesteryear.

This CD made me want to get my dancing shoes on and go out to find me a dancing partner. Weather it's the upbeat sound of Take Me Back to Memphis, the down and dirty blues of Cold Hearted Woman or the get lost in your lover Sweet Forgiveness, the bands' harmonys and well timed instrumentals are sure to be crowd pleasers for the over 40 crowd and the enlightened youth who grew up to love their parents' music.
