The Blue Mule Band
The Blue Mule Band plays a mix of traditional bluegrass, folk and gospel music. Their sound is characterised by hard driving harmonies, banjo and soulful harmonica. Although they are usually billed as a bluegrass band the term "Mulegrass" has been used to describe their unique sound.
They were born out of the bluegrass jams at Foster's Irish Pub in the small ski resort town of Ellicottville, N.Y. Since that time they have continued to grow in popularity and continue to expand their playing area.
The band consists of Gail Hazer on rhythm guitar and vocals, Doug Stein on harmonica and vocals, Bernie Dotterweich on the banjo and vocals and Art Hazer on the bass and vocals.
