Golden Storybook is a wonderful new CD from Blue Petal.  There's a great mix of music styles throughout that all come together to make a brilliant CD.  Manya has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard in a long time.  It's hard to compare her to any particular artist as she is unique.  Some compare their music The Sundays, I would add Mazzy Star, Regina Spektor and Kate Bush to the mix and call it all of that and more with Manya singing lead and playing guitar with a great support behind her in Peter Anderson and Bryan Butler.  Wonderful acoustic melodies fill this CD from start to end.  Flying Home is just amazing as well as Golden Storybook and A Good and Faithful Servant all are tops for me.  Still you can't go wrong with any of the songs it keeps you listening and wanting more.  This is a great CD to throw on for the drive to work, having a beer on the porch or just hanging out.  I highly recommend this on as well as their original EP.

Refreshingly light and yet musically intricate, the melodies are greatly augmented by the depth and the timber of the lead singer's voice. This album is perfect for either road trips or introspective meditative moments. Lyrically rich, the album is a fine addition to any acoustic folk lover's musical library.
