Album Notes

Zen Blues came to us as a complete surprise. It is exactly what the name suggests:
Zen - time, meditation, reflection,
Blues - passion, emotion, feeling.
This is the first Blue Star album without rhythm section. It is only electric guitar and fender rhodes piano on a journey to the inner spaces. For us it was always clear, that the blues is much more than "cryin´in my beer". Zen as well is nothing that hides behind the walls of a monastery. Zen music and the blues are both rooted in pentatonic scales. But this album is not about scales - it is about the wide open landscapes of both the inner and the outer world.
It makes you feel good. Very good! Listen to the soundclips. But be warned: You might want it. That´s why we call it Electro Magnetic Music. Addictive!
Like it? If you tick the way we do, you have already waited for this album. A long time. We did not plan this album. It came to us as a gift. We were actually working on completely different material. Then Zen Blues happened. Now we share it with you. Have fun!

Rainbow Dome Music 2
author: Joseph Wright
I came across this CD when I did a CD Baby search on Electric Piano or Rhodes. After hearing the sound bites I decided to take a chance on in. The CD is great combination of laidback electric guitar blues with a touch of electric piano to add some tension and mix up the mood. It reminds me of a stripped down version of Steve Hillage's Rainbow Dome Music without the swirling analog synths. My wife even likes it and she has very unsophisticated musical taste. This CD is your not your average New Age bubblegum. It is more like someone recorded an instrumental blues CD from the International Space Station or the moon. The best way I could desribe the music is that it spacious and expanding without droning. It is mellow but also energetic. The lack of drums allows the the guitar and electric piano to interweave in an unhurried fashion. I would like to see a volume 2 with some delay effects, panning, and occassional electric guitar played with some slide.

Every massage therapist needs this music in their CD collection!
author: Charlotte Stewart-Smith
What a perfect blend of blues and relaxation! As a massage therapist, I've been searching for music that relaxes the mind and slows the heartrate, but is also unique and different from the norm. This CD is just what I've been looking for. I love it, and so do my clients.
