"Super Vacuum" builds on the eclectic mélange of the previous three albums whilst breaking new ground in the atmospheric realm.
Heavy guitar licks abound in numerous songs that are reminiscent of Jeff Beck and The Cult. Japanese musical influences seep through on the tracks “Torii Dance” and “Ode to Shakuhachi.” The Andes and blues collide on “Blues for Macchu Picchu.”
A couple of jazz fusion tunes are thrown into the mix, with guest artists Artillus and Rolf Jackman adding their creative chops on bass and drums respectively on “Espagna Tu Trios.” Michael’s brother Dave finds his “Asian” percussive groove on “Torii Dance.”
Several of the heavy rock instrumentals are punchy and fun, with a certain fond nostalgia given towards early Jeff Beck and Ritchie Blackmore tossed in for good mix.
Thanks for listening, and enjoy!
Cheers,
Michael Blumenstock
