SING OUT MAGAZINE says :"This homegrown production reveals a wide ranging repertory of folk and folk/country blues. Spunky recastings of country blues from Peg Leg Howll and Willie McTell and spirited instrumentals with plenty of intricate finger picking work alongside self penned gems like 'Can't Stop the Pictures" and " old stuff" like "It's a Sin To Tell a Lie". A pair of vintage Eric von Schmidt covers are my favorites. Good stuff!-GvonT
This first CD from a long time and respected performer in Connecticut's blues/folk scene features clear powerful vocals and effective, at times dazzling, finger style six and twelve string guitar work. The roster of excellent back up musicians showcases some of the best produced by the region including Bob Orsi-harp and vocals, Bill Walach-mandolin, and Preston Reed-slide guitar. The album shows originality and personal style while staying firmly rooted in folk and country blues traditions.
