Season 5, American Idol Top 25 Contestant
BLUU releases a pivotal album.
This CD is amazing & it only makes sense that a sound like this would come from this New Orleans native.
Bobby Bullard known as Bluu came into this world when Disco, Funk and Soul were at its peak. Movies like Shaft, Carwash, Foxy Brown and other funky / soulful music oriented films were peaking out in the scenes.
Bluu started singing at the age of 14. Smooth sounds such as Donny Hathaway's "For All We Know" & Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”, were just two of the many inspirations for Mr. Bobby Bullard. One might actually compare his sound to that of Mr. Hathaway along with a little helping of Stevie Wonder. At the age of 18, he was picked up by Gumbo Funk Productions / Virgin Records. Here, Bobby got his first taste of the music industry and this began the start of a beautiful ride for the man known as Bluu.
Soon enough, Bluu collaborated with other fellow friends and artists and together formed the group Stres. Stres provided an avenue for Bluu to showcase his talent as a vocalist, songwriter and Producer. From all of this a new Record Label under the name Stres Entertainment was born, and helped Bluu embark on an entire new journey....which still lives! In 2005, Bluu continued his journey on to season 5 of American Idol, where he placed in the top 25.
As soon as Bluu returned home, he began working on his featured solo album "The Bluu Suede Project." Coming into a Pop-driven world, Bluu's aim was to go against the grain with his sound as much as possible. He incorporated a lot of his own unique production and vocal style. Bluu's album "The Bluu Suede Project" takes the listener on a journey compiled of struggle in the music industry along with life's adventure. Bluu mixes his sound by incorporating elements from a variety of genres which include Rock, Country, R&B, Neo-Soul, and Hip-Hop. The music will move your spirit and put you in a groove.

I knew with your tenacity you would push on, Bobby. You have been honing your skills for a long time. You have been blessed with the ability to write, arrange, and produce without formal training. Let's not mention the instruments you can play. I think this project shows that it's your time! "The One", "Hit the Dance Floor", and "My Life" are my jams! I can't wait to bump the new CD in tha ride. I pray this goes far. By the way, I didn't notice any female background vocals. I told you to call me!(ha, ha) You know you still gon' sing at my weddin', right?! (smile)
