Album Notes

Making music that pushes boundaries is important to me. Although some constants in my music are a strong melodies and lots of activity. Songs that mix various styles are fun to make, but I also enjoy writing a song that sits squarely within a genre. I think of myself as essentially a rock and roll guy, but I have also been influenced by alt-country, electronica, trip-hop, and blues music. I read a lot of philosophy, especially political philosophy, and sometimes this pops up in the lyrics.

Although I often enjoy lyrics that are only suggestive or clever (as opposed to those that are narrative or admit of a stable interpretation) I often crave something more than words that sound as if they were read from magnetic poetry on the fridge. I'm experimenting with lyrical styles and hopefully the words here are worth singing, speaking, or reading.

I write and record all the material.

Thanks for stopping by.
