Barry Mc Cabe : Absolutely Live Vol. 1 (European Import)

Very powerful Blues-Rock concert from the Irish guitarist, featuring "Full Moon On Main St." - winner of the "Song Of The Year" award from Sheheshe Music. Sounds like Rory Gallagher, Rolling Stones.

***************

This CD from Barry Mc Cabe is from his Albatross years. The main portion of the CD is a live concert from Norway, recorded at an Independance Day Festival (500 miles above the Artic Circle). Did this Irish boy ever melt the snow that day!

This concert was originally released on the Blue Horizon label as "Everybody's Got The Blues", but has been digitally remastered with bonus tracks added to bring you over 70 mins of non-stop hard rockin' blues with subtle asides to show the many hats worn by guitarist/singer/songwriter/front-man, Barry Mc Cabe.

The bonus tracks are studio outtakes, live radio performances and performances from numerous live shows recorded throughout Europe - which have never been released before!

Various comments from people who have heard "Absolutely Live Vol. 1" already.

"The feeling when Barry Mc Cabe hits the stage is akin to being on a Concorde getting into gear - one minute you're sitting there, the next airborne. Theirs is a road proven ferocity that takes no prisoners."

John O'Regan - Rock 'N' Reel - Downtown Radio

"I have received the CD in question. Take out your wallets NOW and send the required funds. If you like ballsy, screaming, wailing blues rock...with a heavy emphasis on superior slide....and I know you do, otherwise you would not be a Rory fan....BUY THIS CD. I can not say enough good things about it. Their are NO low points on this disc. Barry, and the band are a well oiled tight machine that knows how to spell ROCK. Its hard to believe that these are songs that have been done live, without edits and dubs, and then put onto disc. Its truly amazing.

"Absolutely Live Vol.1" will be a welcome, and well played addition to my many CD's. I will definitely be purchasing Vol. 2 when it arrives. Just as a word of explanation....If this CD sucked, I would say so. This review is the
God honest truth."

"Just had a chance to give your CD a concentrated listen. I came in with pretty high expectations, and it still amazed me! Fantastic stuff!! I need another copy for a friend who will really appreciate it."

"Great stuff! Love the 'Full Moon on Main Street'. I was just listening to the Kinsey Report doing that tune the other day, and your version definitely has more fire."

Why have I not heard of this guy before?
author: Kris Moore
Where has he been, and why have I never heard of him before? Like one of the other reviewers he reminds me of Rory Gallager. Will he ever play in the USA? I hope so!!!
