Album Notes

This jazz/blues/gospel/r&b artist can swing with the best of them. She has been compared with the great ones, Ella, Billie, Sarah, Carmen, Dinah and Aretha. Traveling aroung the world with such jazz greats as James Moody, Ron Carter, Cedar Walton, Terrance Blanchard and countless others she has made quite a name for herself. Ray Charles, Frank Capp/Juggernaut, Doc Severinsen, Count Basie, Bill Liston and Clayton Hamilton Orchestras do not hesitate to call her for formal appearances around the globe.

Her new CD "Thinking Of You, Joe" A heartwarming tribute to the great jazz and blues singer Joe Williams, is a prime example of what she can do with any instrumentation. Vocal with solo Piano, Vocal with Bass only, Vocal with Trio, Vocal with Big Band, Vocal with Septet, Vocal with Quartet are all included on this outing to demonstrate her versatility.

Ray Brown the famous bassist makes a heartfelt appearance on "When Did You Leave Heaven."

OC Smith is singing the head arrangement of "Going To Chicago," one of Joe Williams's favorite songs.
You will have to buy this CD just to make sure you don't miss out on one of the greatest singers of this music alive today.

REVIEWS

Sensational!!!
author: R.B. Duncan
It is without a doubt that a listener could be swept off their feet when listening to this fabulous album. Barbara's artistic form and lovable personality is impossible to resist. Within this cd she pays tribute to one of my favorite vocalists, Joe Williams, and surrounds herself with some truly hep cats. I found myself intoxicated by her beautiful clarity and gregarious attitude. She is full of soul and energy, something no performer should be without. Also her love for each song that she nurtures sets her apart from most jazz & blues vocalist. She is an absolute delight and this cd is just sensational!
