Album Notes

Blue Mountain Sunrise has been playing to the enjoyment of Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel fans in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and beyond for nearly 30 years. From corporate and private parties to family reunions, festivals and church services and the occasional live radio and TV appearances, we have played them all. We enjoy every opportunity to bring joy and entertainment to our fans whose appreciation and encouragement make it all worthwhile!
Our current line-up includes three brothers (Roy "Danny", Jeff & Randy Kiser) who provide harmonious vocals. Danny plays an excellent rhythm guitar. Jeff holds his own with great licks and background work on the 5-string banjo. Randy keeps the time on the acoustic bass.
Darrell Weaver, the only surviving original band member rips on the resophonic guitar. Dale Wenger cranks out fine leads and fill on the acoustic guitar. All members have played in various Bluegrass and Gospel groups over the years and are seasoned veterans of the Bluegrass scene.
Persons of interest who have been past pickers with Blue Mountain Sunrise include Jeff Huss of Huss & Dalton guitar fame (played bass) and David Coffey (played mandolin) who currently plays with the group Phoenix.
