The title says it all!
author: Kathy Moran
The title of this CD is the perfect opening song, a who's who of master songwriters and prelude to the finely written and executed songs that follow.
If you've ever had an instant crush on someone, fallen deeply in love, had your heart torn in two, or just needed a little help to get through the night, your story is somewhere on this CD. The love of family also finds its way into the mix.
Myers has a way of remaining completely faithful to classic yet timeless musical stylings and adding his own contemporary touch to them. His lyrics contains the things that real people say or at least wish they could. Sometimes the truth just plain hurts, sometimes hope springs eternal, and sometimes you get caught somewhere in between. Myers will break your heart with one song and win it back with the next.
Debra Chesman's gorgeous harmonies are the perfect complement to Myers' brushed suede vocals. They are warm and sweet, ethereal, and never overdone.
Myers' acoustic guitar always comes across clean, whether he's picking a tender ballad or driving the rhythm of one of his more upbeat tunes. Tom Quigley's mandolin and accordion round everything out nicely.
All in all, an excellent first offering from a fine songwriter who has only begun to scratch the surface of his talents!
