Album Notes

boatclub was formed by three songwriters: Matt Piucci, of Rain Parade fame, Tommy Carns and Mark Hanley. With Stephan Junca providing thunderous thunk on drums, they soon amassed a quite healthy pile of tunes which they then recorded in a San Francisco studio. Their debut cd is that set of songs. The quartet also forms the core of the Billy Talbot Band - bass player and singer of the legendary Crazy Horse - who after four decades of singing and playing other people's music has created some monster tunes of his own. boatclub rocks those tunes with the same fire as heard on their own CD. Now consisting of five members, with the addition of John Thoman - a fourth songwriter and also ex Rain Parade guitar player - boatclub is already knee deep in recording their long awaited follow-up cd. Heavy on psychedelic guitars and soaring harmonies, boatclub packs a wallop. enjoy.
