Album Notes

The Boat Drunks is a band that caters to a special group of people—those who love the music and lifestyle of Jimmy Buffett. In our seven years of existence, we have released two albums of all-original material (written in the Buffett vein), have befriended most of Buffett's band and they often share the stage with us, have had one of our albums released on legendary rock band Little Feat's record label, and have even met Mr. Margaritaville himself! Our music can be heard on Jimmy's own Radio Margaritaville which is available both online and on Sirius satellite radio channel 31. Feeling cold? Tired of snow/ice/winter? Blend a tangy margarita, pop in the Boat Drunks, and escape to somewhere warmer...!

There are a couple of tracks that sometimes get passed over, but for the most part this is a rock solid album. "Callin' in Gone" and "Pirate on the Caribbean" will make you want to quit your job and buy a sailboat. "Hollow Man" tells a slightly depressing story, but does it in such a way that makes you want to get dumped by your wife so you can head south and "wash away a life that might have been."

The first few times I listened this this CD, I have to admit I didn't like it. But it may have been my parrothead prejudice. Songs like 'A Pirate', 'Hollow Man' and 'Tangy Margaritas' are just catchy and worth remembering. Very excellent effort.
