Album Notes

Bobbie Lancaster has been a working singer/songwriter & musician for many years, but her music took a new direction when she became a mother & became a part of the Preschool Team at the Monroe County YMCA in Bloomington, IN. To be with her children, and generate income for her family, Bobbie took a job at the YMCA in child care. After a summer dealing with 30-40 kids every morning...some of them quite rowdy, Bobbie began writing children's songs to entertain the children & to bring some order to a crowded play room! Her music immediately calmed & engaged the children. The Childcare Coordinator, Adrienne, & the Preschool/Family Director, Kathy, saw the effect that music had in the play room, and created a position for Bobbie as "the Music Lady", giving her the opportunity to visit each preschool class for music sessions each week. The YMCA preschool teachers would pass their lesson plans to Bobbie, and she would then create songs based upon those plans. Each song is designed to make the kids laugh, interact musically, and move their little bodies...all the while, sneaking in a lesson! The calming & engaging effect Bobbie's songs had in the playroom was also seen in the preschool classrooms, and after inquiry from YMCA parents & the support from the directors at the Monroe County YMCA, Bobbie enlisted the help of Jeff Foster (master musician) & put together "Little Folks", a 13 song CD, of her music. A PORTION OF EACH CD SOLD WILL BE GIVEN TO THE YMCA TO ASSIST WITH SCHOLARSHIPS FOR YOUTH & FAMILIES! www.music4littlefolks.com
