Album Notes

This is a collection of songs given to me between Christmas Eve 2004 and May 2005, except "Angels In The Kitchen" which was acquired a year or so before in the same manner. The True Author remains anonymous. I am simply grateful to have been used as a messenger, if you will. Now my work is laid out for me, and that is to share these gifts to the best of my ability. My intentions are to keep the feelings expressed and principles contained herein as close as possible to their original state. I trust that same anonymous force will bring the musicians forth that will ultimately give even more life to this endeavor. Until then, here it is, now.*
*These are the liner notes from "Waiting For The Bus", Bobby Lindstrom's new CD. It is an acoustic guitar and vocals only recording, played and sung simultaneously without over-dubs or click track. Recorded and mastered by Stephan Diggle just up the coast from Bobby's hometown of Coos Bay, Oregon in July / August 2005. The significance of when these songs "came" is quite interesting. Bobby's mother Marie Lindstrom "Granny" passed away in his arms on August 1, 2004. He spent the last 9 years of her life taking care of her, the same amount of time clean and sober after 27 years of substance addictions. With Granny in a care facility her last year, in June 2003, Bobby's girlfriend Brenda Bate and her four children came to live with Bobby. On Christmas Eve 2004, with presents under the tree, the roof caught fire from an ember out of the chimney and burned a 4 foot hole in the roof before Bobby got it put out with the garden hose and flooded the attic and lower rooms. Now you have a mess. But this clean up was not the end by any means. The partial check from the insurance company paid for one new side of the roof, but then the washer broke down, the refridgerator had to be replaced and on the way out the delivery truck backed into the power line, frying it in two and bending the mast on the new side of the roof and all that had to be fixed. Then, not to be outdone, the kitchen stove went next. This was about the same time Bobby had sneaked away from his 1/2 decaf regimen in order to keep up and 15 cups of esspresso a day for about 3 weeks put him in the IMCU on his May 8th birthday with a $7,600 caffeine overdose. This was the atmosphere of calamity that bred these songs. They are courageous, sarcastic, humorous, self-exposing and fun to absorb, and they will stick in your minds and hearts and stay there.
