BOBBY MAYNARD


Bobby Maynard has been playing music for twenty-five years. He is an accomplished musician on banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and bass. His professional career encompasses a broad range of musical styles. Bobby has played in approximately 45 states and Canada with artists such as Dolly Parton, Lee Greenwood, The Jordanaires, Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Russell, Helen Cornelius, Ava Barber, Jack Greene, Dry Branch Fire Squad and many others.

Notable performances include the Grand Ole Opry, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Wintergrass Festival in Tacoma, Washington, Strawberry Festival in Yosemite, California

Bobby has worked as a fulltime musician at two theme parks, Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; and Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas .

Bobby has three solo CD's, "Gospel Pickin" , "It's What I Do" and the most recent project, "Holly Jolly Pickin'". All of these projects feature Bobby playing all the instruments.

Bobby won the West Virginia State Banjo Champion for the year 2000.

In May of 2002, the Tamarack in Beckley, West Virginia awarded Bobby their 2002 Performing Artist of the Year. In April 2004, the Tamarack gave Bobby the "TOP SALES PRODUCER" Award in recognition for his CD's being the best sellers.

Bobby can be seen performing with his band, Bobby Maynard and Breakdown which released a new CD "Sounds Like Hillbillies" in June 2004.

When not on the road, Bobby stays busy with his music lesson business at his home in Huntington, West Virginia which he also enjoys very much. Bobby has been teaching since the age of fifteen. He does private lessons and also conducts workshops throughout the country.
