I work in Genova, Italy, known in italian music world as the town of the great existentialists authors in the 60's
The town is tight, hard, sober. It's also a sea place with one of the biggest harbour in the mediterraneum, so at a same time it is attracted from things coming from overseas. Streets are tight and narrows, and narrow is the place because a whole lot of mountains are placed in the back of it.
In the second half of the 80's I am deejaying around the town's clubs promoting any kind of black music
In the 90's I join three of the most reknown underground bands, Sensaciou (raggamuffin and soul music in a poliphonic choir using the local dialect) - Voci Atroci (bizarre acapella quintet jazz and comedy oriented) and Blindosbarra, probably the most important funk band in Italy, produced by Ben Yung of Massive Attack fame. I am lead vocalis and lyricist, and I produce a strange blend of dub, funk, trip-hop irremediably mediated by my Italian(ity) with lyrics undoubtely original and earthy.
This year I record an album "Draghirossi & Buchineri" that continues the work of the past and the press here has shown a huge enthusiasm.
I recently collaborated with Roy Paci & Aretutska, Fratelli di Soledad, Laura Mars and Suriak
I also produce original soundtracks for fashion shows
