ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hermon Mehari trumpet, Bobby Watson Alto Sax, Richard Johnson piano, Curtis Lundy bass, Eric Kennedy drums, Glenn North spoken word, Pamela Baskin-Watson vocals and Karita Carter trombone, all contribute to Bobby Watson's "I Have a Dream" project entitled "Check Cashing Day". This is a tribute in honor of the 50th year anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's March on Washington and his famous "I Have a Dream" speech held on August 28th 1963 in Washington D.C. "It is my hope that this CD provides for cleansing, and an increased dialogue aimed at moving toward the reality of Dr. King's dream for equality for all people around the world". This is a musical theater piece in 15 movements aimed at promoting peace and love. With original compositions by Bobby, Pamela, and Curtis, this CD speaks to where we where, where we're at, and where we are going. "This is the most ambitious and social musical statement I have ever made. I encourage everyone to download the entire CD to get the complete picture and message of this project".

Peace and Blessings!

Bobby Watson, August 21st, 2013.
