Album Notes

My name is Bob Faber and I was born in Chicago in 1937. My mother, Ann Faber, thought it wise that I would take accordion lessons when I was ten years old; but after 2 years, I lost interest and quit.
My aunt Hazel had given me a Hammond organ in the 1980’s which I loved to play. Back in the early 1990’s, I wanted to play a keyboard by Yamaha to pass the time after working hard all day. In short, I was bitten by the bug! In 1995, I began to teach myself how to play chords and melodies. When my wife and I moved to Florida in 2001 to retire (I had my own vending business for 20 years), I stopped in a music store to see a Technics KN-7000. I was amazed at the sound quality, and, wouldn’t you know, three months later I purchased it. This started a 2 year journey of lessons; and my working up to 6-8 hours a day playing this incredible instrument. I fell in love with big band, swing, and country style music. The 1930’s through the 1960’s are my favorite. These songs bring back wonderful memories—I hope you enjoy that era as well.
My wife and I were married on October 3, 1959 after dating for four years. We have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren who live in the Chicago suburbs of Illinois. I love to garden and play pool— but most of all I love to laugh and play music. It’s God’s special gift to me.

Warmest Regards,
Bob
