Album Notes

Songwriter, producer and artist, Bob Halley, is back in the studio again. This time it’s in his Miami apartment home studio that consists of a Macbook Computer, 2 Midi Keyboards, the Garageband app with Apple’s Logic Pro editing environment and several top end studio microphones that fills out the finished product you hear on this CD.

Telling the love story of a couple who met and married each other in the late 1950’s is the song, "Fat Man From New Orleans". With a simple triplet piano background underneath Sax trio sustains, Bob opens the door and shifts into gear for the trip back in time to the era of hula hoops, afternoon Bandstand shows and polka dot bikinis, and then…..untimely, unexpected tragedy.

But hear it for yourself, pop the CD into your player, take a listen and enjoy the journey back to the ‘quiet’ decade - that is, until rock and roll came along! - the 50’s. The whole trip takes less than 10 minutes and we think you’ll find it’s time well spent, many times over.

REVIEWS

It's retro 50's at it's best.

Fat Man From New Orleans is a solid work and given some airplay ( likely college stations or throwback R&B stations ) this just could hit the Billboard Charts. It will require a lot of hard push promotion and relentless hard work...but it could well be worth the concentrated effort. It is aimed at an audience of those who lived through or love the Fats Domino era and like a good love song mixed in.
