The first CD, Bob Heckler, "Fingerstyle," was dedicated to Bob Heckler's three daughters; Tori, Ariel and little Erin. This CD is dedicated to grandchildren; Ellie, age 16, Joel, age 12 and the latest grandchild, Charlie, age 8 months. Two songs are written for Ellie (Ellie Jelly Bean) and Joel, (Cap'N Joel). Of course, these children are among the finest on the planet. Sweetness and caring are to be found in these pieces.
Bob Heckler slipped and fell down a flight of stairs on Oct. 18, 2006. He sustained injuries which will make it not possible to play guitar again for some months to come. Fortunately, David Luxton, bluesdlux.com had recorded songs previously, which were then put on this album. Some previously recorded songs had been redone and put on this to complete the album.
Two other songs are recorded on this CD in which a darker mood was introduced. One is "Bolshevic Boogie" and the other was renamed "BoneBrake Blues," in respect for the ordeal of recovery from the accident. If you get this CD, be sure to pull out the cover and read the opposite side. It gives more of the story. Bob Heckler also played one of his favorite Leo Kotke songs, "Last Steam Engine Train."
9/8/07 (Update) Physical therapy was helpful and Bob has been able to play many of his songs again and has written several more songs. There might be another album in the near future. Bob has performed out two times along with David Luxton, another fine guitarist. More gigs are coming up in October and November, including playing at Signs of Life in Lawrence and at the annual Bizarre Bazaar at the Lawrence Art Center.
Bob Heckler invites your thoughts and reactions, which can be shared with him at bob.heckler@yahoo.com. BoneBrake T-shirts are available as well, in Maroon, Light Gray, Dark Gray and Pink. To get current prices and place an order, write to bob.heckler@yahoo.com. The T-shirt has a large picture which is exactly like the picture on the album cover.

Rollin' down the river
author: Clint Bridges
Bob's music makes me feel like rafting down the Mississippi. Something about the sitar-like droning rhythym of his playing just makes one want to drift downstream. Keep up the good work!

Relaxing Acoustic Guitar Music
author: David
Bob has a great sense of melody and harmony as a solo guitarist. Very few guitarists these days are able to do what he seems to do with such ease. This album is very enjoyable.

A very soothing sound from just a guitar.
