“Every once in a while you meet somebody with style and a flair that is all their own” The opening line of Bob Lavalley’s Another Angel, from his debut CD titled It Was You, sums up the thirty year journey of a boy from the fifties who always aspired to the music of his generation. “It all started with my dad’s record collection”, recalls Bob. “Glenn Miller, Bobby Darin, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Elvis, he had all the best songs from the forties through the early sixties.(listen to The King and I) Fuse all of that with the influences of the teenage years: Beatles, Hendrix, Cream, Janis, and here he is entering the musical arena with a new take on what’s come before, for all ages. So put the top down, crank up the stereo and start cruisin’ with an album that you’ll listen to from beginning to end, as it should be. Bob is the new voice of his generation. This one’s a keeper.

something to smile about
author: Barbara Anderson
Bob, I just finished listening to your CD. While so many are writing of anger and disillusionment, you give us something to smile about. The melodies are fresh and catchy. The lyrics are upbeat and the vocals . .. well, I'm totaly impressed. Your voice has a nice range and it's very easy to listen too. No tacky vibrato, good ennunciation . . and you didn't waver the vocal line all over the place. I always wished I could sing but I have a range of about 6 notes in tenor. (Blech!)
Keep up the good work.

It Was You

Great classic sounding rock record, good catchy songs, tracks 1 and 5 are my faves, but all tracks are worth it. Get the whole album, you won't be disappointed.
