notes

Released on Last Stop Records in 2003, Lveo's debut album, "Bobomagic lveo" sold out of it's first press upon its release and was nominated for top 10 album of the year in New York's Village Voice. The album has been distributed to Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and Budapest and has had continuous airplay on KALX, KZSU, KUSF, KPOO, KDRT, Pirate Cat Radio and Live 365's Good People Radio. Lveo has performed live on-air for KZSU's Press & Release and Sixth Degree's show on KUSF. The band will begin recording a second album this fall.

The Band

Lveo delivers a melange of haunting baritone tales blended with rich, "sonic dissonance." It has been suggested that the music of Lveo is like that of Centro-Matic, Jeff Buckley, Tool, Radio Head, and Red House Painters. The band, Lveo, consists of two key contributors. The drumming of Eric Davis is unorthodox, yet thoughtful; driving each song from tranquility then pushing the dynamics into swells of madness. The voice of Magic is haunting and captivating; his guitar droning a-tonal. They will bring you from lullaby to chaos and back. This is what Lveo does best.

Lveo has performed at number of formidable Bay Area Venues including Cafe Du Nord, The Hotel Utah, Thee Parkside, Last Day Saloon, UC Davis' Mondavi Center, The Park SF, Beale Street Bar and Grill, JJ Schultz's Beer Drinkin' Acoustic, Cloudview Lane, The ICAN Gallery, Studio 352, as well as San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza.

  • Can't spell "Bobomagic" without B O B

Yeah, yeah, the CD is great and all...but what I really want to know is, is the Mariana Cartwright who wrote the "So Dam Good" review the same Mariana Cartwright who lived with The Erector Set in Jamaica Plain, MA around 1985?

  • unbelievably good...

Lveo showed us more of the rock side; deep, dark and heavy!! I loved the way they arranged their songs! The band brought people who were playing ping-pong in the patio to the stage. Do you know what that means? Their music definitely has something unbelievably good.

  • The full band light his songs up with a wall of fire...
    author: Bryan Harrison

Hey Mr. O', Congrats on the huge success of your show. I had a good time, and was blown away by the crowd. LVEO, as a full band, brought a wall of sound to your material.'twas cool. I included a bit of a review of the evening on my latest notes on my site, if'n ya care to check it out. "Kudos to my friends Alex James Muscat and Bob O'Magic for their packed-house CD release party at the Hotel Utah last night. Alex's band put on a great rockin' show, with Alex in full performance mode. That was very cool to see. The man is quite the showman. LVEO, Mr. O's band, presented our belveod open mic host in a whole new light. I've heard Bob O' play his haunting tunes as a solo acoustic artist at the Utah open mics for quite some time, and love his sound. The full band lit his songs up with a wall of sound. 'twas very cool, as well. Great to hear "Fenderella", too. I wasn't able to stay for the final act, Segue, but imagine they must be good. I've never scene the Utah so packed, and people were still arriving when I left after LVEO's set." bryan harrison

  • It is so dam good...
    author: Mariana Cartwright

I can not get enough of this CD. I love it! I love you... but I am IN LOVE with your words and your voice, the mix of beats and rhythms... they are delicious... they take me to far away places that are warm, I am on a lounge chair and someone gorgeous is fanning me (that must be this song -Music for Charles). I could praise it on and on. Like I already said it makes me afraid of losing you... it is so dam good. mariana Cartwright
