Album Notes

This CD is a compilation of Bob Semanchik’s take on some of the best classic songs of our time in addition to three original compositions highlighting his love of guitar.

The music’s appeal is for all generations. Songs that range from the 40’s to the 60’s will delight baby boomers and earlier generations alike. The original tunes come straight from the heart of a longtime guitar player and will appeal to fans of Les Paul and Eric Clapton.

If you’re looking for soulful, soothing music to relax to, the Brazilian rhythms and nylon string guitar of “Black Orpheus”, “Corcovado” and “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me” will fit the bill.

For chord melody jazz guitar lovers, Bob tips his hat to Kenny Burrell and Joe Pass with his versions of “Cheek to Cheek”, “The Way You Look Tonight”, and “Here, There, Everywhere”.

Bob’s acoustic “Easy Crusin” is a must listen song that will put you in the driver\'s seat cruising down the highway on a sunny Sunday afternoon, and for those of you who wonder what it would sound like if Les Paul, Brad Paisley and Wes Montgomery got together for a blues jam, check out “Blue Lobster”. The soulful lead guitar of Bob’s third original “Hot Rain” will remind you of Joe Satriani.

Last but not least the “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” rendition will transport you back to a simpler time and fill your heart with warmth.

Another highlight of this CD is the superior musicianship of the supporting cast, Don Wallace on bass, Sal Ranniello on drums and percussion and special guest Joe McWilliams on piano (“Georgia On My Mind”). All three of these fine players have been making music on the Ct. music scene for decades and their experience shows.
