Album Notes

The recording of hymns as instrumentals is a unique challenge. Many of these beautiful melodies were written long after the authors penned the lyrics. Words often written in times of sorrow and personal struggle. Poetry that expresses confidence in a faithful God. Even before they were sung, there was great power and weight in every syllable. Since the voice of this CD is my guitar, I’ve set out to arrange and perform these hymns to musically interpret the truths represented in each one. Though my personality shapes these tracks, the goal was to not be the artist, but more the canvas on which the artist paints. I pray that as you listen through this work, you’ll join me in allowing these songs to be an out flowing of worship from our grateful hearts to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
