Album Notes

I will never forget the first time I heard "The Jimi Hendrix Experience". I was about 13 at the time. I had already started learning to play guitar, but at that point, it became a passion. Although, having taken a few months of guitar lessons which basically got me through the sore fingers of a beginner, I learned to play trying to copy Mick Taylor's licks from the "John Mayall Crusade" album. The blues and Hendrix were my main influences at that time, other influences included Procol Harum, King Crimson, Cream, and Pink Floyd. As years went by, from the late 60s to late 70s, I had played in various bands in central and Northwestern Ohio. My latest appearances have been in open stage blues clubs. "Expressions" is a combination of multiple genres with the majority of songs being blues rock based followed by progressive rock and a track that one might consider alternative, "Deep Green" (the Irish side of me). My music represents various experiences I have had in life from sadness in "Don't Say Goodbye" and "Deep Hole Cry", to escape in "Escape" and "Aftermath", to joy in "Smilin Again". The passion I have when playing is represented in "Scream Out". And in the end, there is the look back in "Memories" and the peace of a "Sunset". I hope you enjoy my music!

I love this music!! This CD has definitely earned itself a permanent place on my “playlist”!! Songs of work & play & laughter & tears ~ isn’t this what blues is about?? “Sunset” grips my soul and even though it is an instrumental; it makes me sing a haunting & primal song. “Raggedy Strut” makes me dance!!
