Album Notes

Steve Carroll and the Bograts are the house band at Tommy Condon's Irish Pub in Charleston, SC. Steve Carroll (native of Dublin) sings and plays bodhran (Irish drum)and is the leader of the band. He has been in residence at Tommy Condon's for 15 years. Guitarist Teddy Prause, a Charleston native, has been accompanying Steve for 10 years now.

The newest member of the band is John Holenko playing guitar, mandolin, and banjo. He has been with the group a mere 4 years. Steve Carroll and the Bograt's have a huge following of college students in Charleston, particularly those from the Citadel, which explains the inclusion of the distinctly non-Celtic version of "Dixie".

Charleston is a major tourist attraction and sees patrons from all over the US and the world. As a result the band has been heard all over the world, and fans return year after year to catch the Bograt's on their home turf.

REVIEWS

Fond memories of 1990 at Mills house
author: John
Album doesn't completely capture Steve's best. His cassette recorded at the Mills House is nearly worn out with being played so often since a memorable evening at the Mills House.

This is fabulous as usual. As always, their performance proves them to be the best local South Carolina artists! Wish the CD store wasn't sold out. Will just have to go down to Tommy Condon's and hear them in person!
