Album Notes

"This collection of songs, performed by the Boilemaker Jazz Band, is a musical testiment to creative parenting.

There is music in every baby, from the time that they're floating free in the womb, processing mom's blah blah blah conversation and her celery crunching to her shimmy-ing across the floor to her own internal rhythms. What a wonderfully playful window of opportunity to give form to what comes naturally by exposing babies to all kinds of music- GOOD music. Good music is good for you and your youngsters!

Check out this band- it is loose, fun and swingin', exactly what a diapered dancer in training would need. The tunes are all the gems of childhood. I wouldn't be surprised to see YOU popping it into the deck over and over again, because, aren't we all just adults waiting for permission to let out our own "jazz baby" and dance free in front of the band?"

Love it!
author: "Morton"
I bought two copies of this CD - one for our niece Anna's first birthday, and one for our future offspring "Morton", coming in February. The music is a lot of fun, and, unlike most CDs for kids, won't drive you nuts. The Boilermaker Jazz Band was a big part of our life in Pittsburgh, and played at our wedding - we want "Morton" to grow up listening to them, even though we now live in California.

Bouncy Jazz Baby a danceable, fun CD
author: The Alaskan Assassin
The Boilermakers have been around for a good bit of time now, and "Jazz Baby" is one of their older albums. It certainly holds its own though. The beats have a hint of upbeat New Orleans Jazz flavor that makes keeps your toe tapping throughout the whole album. The Cajun feel really comes out with their lively covers of "Jambalaya" & "Eh La Bas" which is highlighted by some witty, fun vocal play & smooth horn playing. Its a collection of popular tunes that the band has ingeniously coverted to a swing beat making us wonder why some of these hadn't been covered ages earlier. "Saints", "Baby Face" & "Ice Cream" all have a danceable, energetic beat, and are by far my favorite of the upbeat covers. In all, the palpable energy of "Jazz Baby" is sustained through the entire album, even through the mellower songs. If you're looking to take a chance on the Boilermakers, you can't go wrong with this album.
