Album Notes

This folky country-flavored roots rock debut from songwriter-singer Scott B. Bomar is equal parts Tom Petty and Steve Earle. Born in Nashville, but living in Los Angeles, Scott secured a staff songwriter position in a joint publishing deal with Sony/ATV/Tree Music Publishing and Larga Vista Music after releasing This Kind. One national review noted the album's "finely crafted songs" and suggested that "the major record companies release hundreds of discs each year that don't come close to what this one has to offer."

Scott has played from The Sunset Strip to Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, from Billy Block's Western Beat in Hollywood to The Tin Pan South Songwriter's Festival in Tennessee, and from McCabe's in Santa Monica to Doc Watson's Merlefest roots music festival in North Carolina. He and Melanie, his wife and musical compadre, won second place in the national Chris Austin Songwriting Competition (judged by Gillian Welch, Jim Lauderdale and others) and have both been honored annually with the ASCAPlu$ award which recognizes "writers whose works have a unique prestige value." They've also received awards from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and Jewel's Soul City Café song contest.
