Album Notes

Bringing to the stage the vast accomplishments of their past, Bonnie Whitmore and Jamie Blythe join forces and voices to create the Austin-Americana duo, Bonnie and Blythe. Cleverly combining aspects of Folk, Rock, and Country, Bonnie and Blythe deliver a performance worthy of coming back for more. Their tight harmonies and heart-felt lyrics accompanied by the dynamic melodies of this bass and guitar duet take the audience on a wild ride from foot stomping rock to pensive introspection. In the year and half they've been together, Bonnie and Blythe have had songs from their CD placed on the Grammy ballot, performed with such notable artists as Shelley King, Susan Gibson and Patrice Pike, played venues including Gruene Hall and the Cactus Cafe, and are regularly joined by musicians from the Austin Lounge Lizzards and the Polyphonic Spree. With a CD selling hot, a full performance schedule, and a music video on the way, Bonnie and Blythe is the next big thing in Texas music and beyond.

A beautiful blend of Irish and Texas folk...
author: Audrey Hunt, San Marcos Scene
With a beautiful, cohesive album, this folk duo let their true colors shine. Bonnie Whitmore and Jamie Blythe have found perfect harmony and fusion, and their voices weave in and out of one another, often stitched together with the strings of the violin. A beautiful blend of Irish and Texas folk, with even a touch of Spanish ballad, their self-titled album is a collection of softly-sung ballads and orchestrated mantras of personal strength and realization. Fans of Sarah McLaughlan will be impressed. Bonnie and Blythe is a powerful release from these two women, and it channels that power into its listeners. “Drive Me Home” stands on the rock side, but most of the album sways in the clutches of sweet folk music. An amazing album, from vocals to lyrics to instrumentation to production. (A+)
