Album Notes

Ascension is the fourth album by Alexander Bonus. It was conceived as a two-part electronica symphony grouped into two “orders” of multiple sections. The titles of the first order pay homage to baroque composer François Couperin, harkening to his style of composition. While each track can be appreciated on its own, when combined, the musical sections form a larger, thematic composition that represent ascension on many levels.

The album is dedicated to five young classical musicians that perished in a flight accident in April '06. Bonus performed with them the night of the tragedy. This album is the most meaningful way for him to honor their lives.
