Bookstore Robbery’s been playing around Seattle for just under a year. During that time they’ve played some great shows, made a lot of friends, and formed a loyal following. They’ve also worked themselves far enough up the ladder that it’s time they shared what they do best with a wider audience.

Their songwriting shows that they know what a great pop song is all about: melody and strong vocal performances intermingled with smart instrumentation. They’re not afraid of making a big noise but also play with enough subtlety and skill to show a love of atmospherics and dynamics.

The four songs on their debut release, “Mild Mannered Son,” were chosen from a dozen or so songs written through 2006. The resulting DIY effort is a thought provoking, but above all else, entertaining ride.
