Album Notes

The name Born Hammers refers to an old American proverb: "Some men are born anvils, others are born hammers." Relative to the band, it refers to heavy drinking and loud music, as well as the fundamental belief that making music can be much more enjoyable than just listening to it.

The Born Hammers music is rockin', up-beat, beer drinkin' bar music and has its origins in the typical midlife crisis of most tavern junkies. One thing that can be said for certain about this band is that they are true to their influences. They were raised on the radio during the 70s and 80s listening to what is now considered "classic" rock - Bob Seger, The Knack, Kiss, The Who, Bad Company, BTO, Cheap Trick, AD/DC, The Rolling Stones and the like. It's the sound they love and it's the sound they make. No screaming young punks or lilting ballads here, just hard-driving rock rhythms and power pop melodies that move along and take you with them.

This is a sweet CD from beginning to end. High energy rock with songs that are fun to listen to. The band is tight and moves through their songs with precision. Very well done and great listening. Highly recommended.
