Album Notes

After four years, Boru’s Ghost returns with their highly-anticipated release “Hound of Cullan.” This album reflects both the continuing musical evolution of Boru’s Ghost and the changes to the band’s lineup. The band’s original members, lead vocalist and whistle player Audra Blankenship-Pierce, guitarist Russell Pierce, and multi-instrumentalist John McGaha are rejoined by their original percussionist, Dustin Cooper, and two new members: Eric Herndon on bass and classical guitar, and Leah Kenton-McGaha on hammered dulcimer, low whistle and vocal harmonies.

This album features some classic original tunes like “Epitaph,” “Hound of Cullan,” and “Open Road,” and some new songs including the mournful “Hammerfall” and the up-beat “Lucky Penny.” Throughout the album, Boru’s Ghost remains faithful to the Celtic music that is the foundation of their sound while infusing a healthy dose of their creative perspective into the music.
