Album Notes

Mix a splash of country, a shot of blues, a dash of jazz - and don't forget to ROCK. That's the Bourbon Dynasty.

The Dynasty began in 2004 when singer Charles Walston (formerly of The Vidalias) enlisted guitarist Bob Craver (DT and the Shakes, 52-Pickup) to work on some new songs he was recording at Scary Clown Studio in Bethesda, Maryland.

They were joined on the sessions by some of the swingingest musicians in the Washington DC area: drummer Bob Berberich (of Grin and the Rosslyn Mountain Boys), bass player Philip Stevenson (Carnival of Souls), piano/organ player Mark Stevens (Roomful of Blues), guitarist Pete Kanaras (the Nighthawks, the Shambells) and Mike Woods (Honky Tonk Confidential). Guitarist Page Waldrop (the Vidalias), horns and gospel singers added the finishing touches.

As the recording took shape, Craver and Walston decided to form a band that could perform the material live, along with some vintage country, blues and rock songs they both love. The current lineup includes drummer Mike Peters and bass player Donnie Craver (Bob's big brother).

The record, produced by Walston and Stevenson, was released in November 2006 on Night World Records.
