Butchvarov's accomplished acoustic and electric guitar work drives the music: a rhythm master, he finger-picks with slide in multiple tunings, a style that incorporates influences as diverse as Pete Townshend, Roger Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins and J.S. Bach. The album's lyrics spin chilling, engrossing stories about dreams and success, psychosis and redemption. Contributing to the hypnotic, other-worldly sound of "The World's A Madhouse" are musicians Nicole Messier (vocals), Terry Lee Storhaug (drums and percussion), V Arouet (bass), and Brian Barnes (electric guitar).
