Album Notes

Catherine Bowers is one of a select group of artists currently under development with Vancouver's Studio Cloud 30. With a voice reminiscent of Karen Carpenter and Carole KIng, Catherine sings and writes from her heart.
Getting her start in community choirs and amateur musical productions, Catherine sang and wrote in a rock band in university, but never seriously considered pursuing a career in music.
Since being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, Catherine has re-focused her life on what brings her joy. Catherine currently operates her own small business, travels extensively with her family, and pursues her passion as a singer-songwriter.
Along the way, Catherine has been mentored by three incredible writers, Dawn Pemberton, Aileen De La Cruz and Warren Dean Flandez. Furthering her renewed connection to the spiritual side of music, Catherine became a member of a 100-piece Soul Gospel Choir.
In the fall of 2007, Catherine performed as part of “Divas after 8” to great reviews. The “Divas” are a group of talented female singers, many of whom had put their musical dreams on hold for career or family. Since February of 2008, Catherine has concentrated her musical efforts writing and co-writing an impressive catalogue ranging from inspirational ballads to kick-ass country tunes.
The independent release of her first two albums in the fall of 2009 was a double dose of woman’s intuition and wisdom. Catherine sings in her own distinct style, dubbed urban twang, on her debut EP, “No It Ain’t Over Yet” and showcases some of Vancouver’s top female artists on her full-length publishing CD “Going to the Good Side”. Her CD Release concert on October 24th, 2009 raised $4000.00 for the Looking Glass Foundation of BC, a local charity for young women suffering with eating disorders.
Catherine’s EP “No, It Ain’t Over Yet” features two bonus tracks, a specifically recorded version of “Everywhere”, a song about roadside memorials for use on MADD Canada’s website and Dani Fuentes’ stellar rendition of “I Needed an Angel” written for the Looking Glass Foundation of BC. Catherine will be donating 50% of the proceeds from these two tracks to the respective charities.
Catherine will be performing at MADD Canada’s Candlelit Vigil April 24th, 2010 in Toronto.
